It snowed here. Finally! We got a little over an inch last week, so of course a little voice kept asking: "Outside?" I explained that it was snow and it would be cold, so he brought me his coat and started saying "Noh? Noh?" and pointing to the door.
Being the adventurous mom that I am, we strapped on our brand spankin new Goodwill boots and ventured out.
Shout out to *awesome* Aunt Shawndeen for the handmade scarf!
What is it about a hat with ears that makes you want to snatch that little guy up and snuggle?
Daddy was shoveling and scraping off cars, so of course Jackson wanted to help. He's doing such a good job!
Of course I'm thrilled that my $5 boot purchase was not in vain. I was sure that by purchasing the boots I was jinxing any chance of getting snow. No better way to put off Jack Frost than to buy a whole bunch of snowgear for someone who will grow out of it in 3 months.
But then.
We got the Mother of Storms!
"Winter Storm Q"
What kind of name is that? Seriously, at least hurricanes get multiple letters.
Anyway, "Q" dumped a good 10 inches at Chez Reynolds yesterday. So of course, we broke out those boots for a second time. *joy*
It is a testament to how smart this little guy is that, as soon as came upstairs and looked out the windows... "Noh? Noh!"
And brought me his coat.
Here we are, first sledding experience of Jackson's little life!
Moving the hat for better visibility
Daddy and Jackson!
This is Awesome!
He laughed all the way down. Until he fell off in a snow bank and got snow down his coat. Then he cried and Daddy held him on all subsequent trips.
On our way in, we decided to see how deep the snow on the porch was. It's about 10" in the yard, which translates to just above Jackson's knees. He was pretty frustrated that he couldn't walk by himself, and a little freaked out. But that didn't prevent him from being excited when Daddy dug out a spot for him to stand on the porch!
Before After
Hopefully tomorrow the snow will be wet enough to build a snowman!
